  Welcome to my Website

Hello and welcome to my website. In this, I will be telling you about my disability, dysphasia (hence the title) and explaining what it all means.

This website will try to teach you what dysphasia is all about and explain how it is caused, for example, my type of dysphasia is through a birth defect. I will show you some other ways of becoming dysphasic...that is more common.

I have done a course in Web Page Design and Production at Milton Keynes College last year (2006) and I'm now on the second year of my Foundation Degree course in Web Development. I will be finishing the course at the end of May, beginning of June and I will redesign this site and bring some more dynamic qualities to the site. This is version one at the moment.

My job at the moment is Lifeguarding. In lifeguarding, we don't get paid all that much as we're on the minimum wage. The job is fairly boring at times and other times sometime can be quite stressful when we are having to deal with an incident. But most of the time, it is enjoyable as we are interacting with the customers all day and I find that is the most interesting part of my job.

On July 19th 2008, I did a bike ride from Avonmouth near Bristol to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. Details can be found on justgiving.com/damianquinn. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to complete it due to an accident which was caused by me hitting a blind corner and managing to go over my handlebars between two cars. Fortunately, I only ended up injuring my shoulder.

I decided that I should put a bit about the holidays on here that I go with other dysphasics and the details can be found if you click on the "Holiday" button below. Details of the holidays will be coming up soon. Please keep checking for updates!

Note: Please excuse any errors that may occur in the website, but I (the author) am dysphasic. The reason I have written this website is to get dysphasia slightly better known in the mainstream world. I have tried to make the language understandable as best as that I can. But there are probably some errors in the website despite all of the attempts to rid of the errors.

Thank you and I hope that I have enlighten you while you read the website.

Damian
